Uzair has represented a wide variety of clients, both individual and corporate, including fortune 100 tech companies, large insurance carriers, NBA and NFL professional athletes, asylum seekers, and indigent criminal defendants. As a litigator he has tried multiple bench and jury trials to verdict. His experience includes significant law and motion and discovery practice.
Today, Uzair’s practice focuses on national mass tort and other high stakes litigation. He is a member of our firm’s litigation team that has been appointed to leadership in the National Prescription Opiate case before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. This multi-billion dollar litigation is a response to the national opioid crisis, with plaintiffs including cities, counties, and native tribes taking legal action against manufacturers and distributors of opioid medications. The Opioid MDL has been called the most complex litigation in the history of federal courts.
Uzair is also a member of our wildfire litigation team. Our firm represents several thousand victims of the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Northern California Wildfires in a court-appointed leadership role. This litigation seeks to hold PG&E liable for personal injury and property damages caused by the horrific fires that consumed Napa, Sonoma, Paradise, and other cities and counties in Northern California. This proceeding is the largest utility bankruptcy in U.S History.
